Free running is amazing, if it is what I think you are talking about. If by free running, you mean using any environment, and turning it into your personal gymnasium, we're talking about good stuff. Groups such as Urban Freeflow, the founder of Free Running, which is a variation of Parkour. Parkour was used as an evasive training technique in the British forces I believe. David Belle is a master of it, and is featured in many hit movies using it. His once best friend - Sebastian - then went and made it his own style, and started the group Urban Freeflow. From that point, he has started a major trend thats reached the U.S. Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6JIIPh_P4U
Good stuff, worth searching youtube for. _________________ "Mourn! Scream! Regret! Then cry yourself to death!" ~Yukishiro Enishi

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. My dad and I were bored last night and were watching it on youtube, we saw a few of David Belle's videos there. I have no idea how they can do some of those stunts, it's amazing. They're like monkeys. Wow, urban freeflow has some awesome stuff.
Deaths_Pulse: I think I see what you were trying to do with the urban freeflow site. I fixed it. You have to put the full address including "http://" a pain I know._________________ |

| Looking into Parkour and Free Running some more, it's amazing. The parkour traceurs seem really touchy about the difference between parkour and free running though (mostly about the flips). The philosophy behind it is interesting too. Free Running looks flashy, but I can see the point of both styles as an art-like form. _________________ |

| I agree. Overall, I like Parkour more. I checked out some websites for it, and one of them made me laugh so hard. It was a FAQ for parents whose children were interested in Parkour. Questions like "When going to the Gym to practice with others, who is responsible for watching my child?" the answer: "No one." I laughed. No parent in their right mind would let their kid practice Parkour. I also looked up some of the training videos. Most of them I saw looked fairly similar; either they practice at parks or in gyms. The first time I saw videos of Parkour I was wondering how you would practice for it...now I know...But looking around the internet, there is a suprising number of groups who get together all over the US. _________________ |
